The science team from the Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE) mission sponsored an ACE-2000 Symposium entitled "The Acceleration and Transport of Energetic Particles Observed in the Heliosphere" which was held January 5 - 8, 2000, at the Miramonte Resort in Indian Wells, California. The scientific program was divided into presentations and discussions relating to acceleration and transport of four particle components:
The ACE-2000 program included a series of invited talks, selected contributed talks, an extensive poster session, and open discussion sessions that focused on recent experimental results, new theoretical models, and topical issues. We invited broad participation by the energetic particle community, including representatives of such missions as Ulysses, Wind, SOHO, and SAMPEX, in addition to ACE.
