ACE Weekly 01/02/03 - 01/08/04 All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally. A successful attitude maneuver was executed on 01/02/04. The next attitude maneuver will occur on 01/16/04. ============================================================================ Orbit Events: The next SEZ event will start around 02/22/04 and the minimum angle will be approximately 0.645 degrees. ===================================================================== OCRs Executed: None. ===================================================================== Ongoing Activities: TAPS: Release 4.1.13 was delivered on 01/06/04 and is currently being tested by the FOT. Open DRs have been prioritized by the FOT in preparation for transition. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Automation (ROBOTT): - ROBOTT version 0.3 (Offline) is operational on String 1. - ROBOTT Version 0.4 has been installed on String 2 and is currently being tested by the FOT. This release included HSM, Offline, and Command & Control. Testing of DRs fixed in Release 0.4 is progressing well. The FOT has completed testing at the individual button level and is almost completed testing at the "Start Pre/Post Pass" button level. CRON testing of Release 0.4 should begin 01/13/04. HSM is still having sporadic problems detecting true anomalies. Both advisory and auto modes of C&C have been tested by the FOT. There seems to be some problems running C&C in auto mode, but this was expected. - The only component not delivered to the FOT for testing is the Real-time Monitor. ===================================================================== Anomalies: DOY 04002 (01/02/2004) ACE Anomaly G04-0002 GDS 26m (DSS-16) MPA Problem At approximately 14:52, DSS-16 called to verify that the spacecraft was at the high data rate of 87648 bps. The FOT verified that the spacecraft was at the high data rate. At 15:18, DSS-16 stated that they were in the process of rebooting the Metric Pointing Assembly (MPA) and possibly obtaining new predicts for the antenna. At 15:55, TimeTag Bin 1 kicked off to switch the spacecraft back to the low data rate. At 16:28, DSS-16 stated that the MPA problems were fixed. Data was online at 16:31:24. The FOT extended the EOT with DSS-16 to 20:00 to complete all pass activities. IMPACT: Delayed pass activities. All data was eventually acquired. DR #G103915 DOY 04003 (01/03/2004) ACE Anomaly G04-0003 - ROBOTT CRON Terminated After all maneuver activities were completed and prior to commanding the spacecraft to Science all instances of TPOCC were killed. When the pass was extended by the FOT, CRON was not killed. Thus at 18:35, CRON began all postpass activities on String 1 at 10 minutes after the original scheduled EOT time of 18:25. The remainder of the pass activities were successfully performed on the backup string, String 2. IMPACT: None DOY 04004 (01/04/2004) ACE Anomaly G04-0004 - GDS 34m (DSS-24) TCP Halt At 15:29:03 ACE FOT noticed that telemetry was offline; Notified DSS-24 of situation. At 15:29:21 the command to load the LOS Time Tag Bin was sent; since telemetry was offline the command was retransmitted twice (2 extra cmd echo). At 15:30:50, telemetry was back on line. IMPACT: Delayed pass activities. All data was eventually acquired. DR #G102932. DOY 04006 (01/06/2004) ACE Anomaly G04-0005 - MAD 26m (DSS-66) Bad Predicts/Late AOS DSS-66 reported a signal strength of -146 just before BOT. The FOT instructed the station to reacquire the S/C. After obtaining new predicts, the station was able to acquire the S/C. IMPACT: Delayed pass activities. DR# M102225 DOY 04006 (01/06/2004) ACE Anomaly G04-0007 - Monitor Sample Time (0158 Data) Wrong The FOT discovered the Monitor Sample Time in the 0158 Monitor Data is ahead 1 day. Further investigations determined the problem has existed since 2004 and affects 26M data only. JPL was notified and is in the process of correcting the problem.
