ACE Weekly 04/07/06 - 04/13/06

All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally.

Orbit/Attitude:

No attitude maneuvers were completed this week.  The next attitude maneuver
is scheduled for Friday 04/21/06.  A spin down maneuver will also be
executed on 04/21/06.

Ongoing Activities:

Space Link Extension (SLE) - The first version of ACE SLE was delivered to
the Library on December 14.  The delivery to the ACE MOC will not be until
after String 3 is converted to the RIONET.  

RIONet - String 3 conversion to the RIONet is on hold based on NASCOM's
schedule.    

Attitude Training - The FOT continues training on attitude determination,
maneuver planning, and maneuver execution.

Anomalies:

DOY 097 (04/07/06)  G06-0037  SIMSS Disconnected
FOT noticed that the SIMSS software was disconnected, so SIMSS was rebooted.
IMPACT: No DSN 0158 monitor data when SIMSS is down.

DOY 097 (04/07/06)  G06-0038  SSR Dumplist Not Created
Due to a UNIX directive error that occurs occasionally, the SSR dumplist was
not created.  The dumplist was created after the pass so the redumps were
performed the following day.
IMPACT: Minimal.  All data was recovered during the following support. 

DOY 097 (04/07/06)  G06-0039  DSS-66 - Incorrect Cmd Mod Index
DSS-66 had the command mod index incorrectly set at 0.28 dB vice 1.69 dB.

IMPACT: 12 cmds had to be retransmitted.  The inactive CDH Last Resort Reset
cmd sent at the beginning of the pass was not received by the spacecraft.

DOY 100 (04/10/06)  G06-0040  DSS-66 - Incorrect Cmd Mod Index
DSS-66 had the command mod index incorrectly set at 0.28 dB vice 1.69 dB.

IMPACT: 5 cmds had to be retransmitted.  The inactive CDH Last Resort Reset
cmd sent at the beginning of the pass was not received by the spacecraft.

DOY 102 (04/12/06)  G06-0041  AC2FE1A Dead
The front end processor on the backup string died on Tuesday afternoon
(4/11/06).  The power supply was replaced on Wednesday evening (4/12/06).
On Thursday evening (4/13/06), the front end died again.  Investigation as
to the cause of the failure is ongoing.
IMPACT: String 2 is not available to be a backup until the front end is
fixed.  String 3 will serve as the backup for the time being. 

DOY 102 (04/12/06)  G06-0042  DSN Log File Not Created
The DSN 0158 log file was not created for DOY 102.  FOT rebooted SIMSS.
IMPACT: No DSN 0158 monitor data.
