ACE Weekly 06/02/06 - 06/08/06 All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally. ============================================================================ Orbit/Attitude: Type Attitude Date 06/07/06 DOY 158 2006 Thrusters 2R 4R+ 4R- Duration 10:39 min Start Time 15:03:29z Stop Time 15:15:44z Start HGA -5.42 deg Stop HGA 6.20 deg Firing 54 pulses Start Sun Angle 13.52 deg Stop Sun Angle 3.90 deg* This attitude maneuver violated the 4 degree sun angle contraint. See below for more details. The next attitude maneuver is scheduled for Tuesday, 06/20/06. ============================================================================ OCRs: None ============================================================================ Ongoing Activities: Attitude Training - The FOT continues training on attitude determination, maneuver planning, and maneuver execution. The transition date is tentatively scheduled for 06/16/06. RIONET - A licensing issue with the firewalls needs to be resolved before the MOC can be transitioned. Space Link Extension (SLE) - ACE SLE version 2.1 was delivered to the Library on April 28, 2006. The delivery to the ACE MOC will not occur until after String 3 is converted to the RIONET. ============================================================================ Extra Activities: None ============================================================================ Anomalies: DOY 156 (06/05/06) G06-0060 DSS-66 - Incorrect Command Mod Index DSS-66 had the command mod index incorrectly set at 8.13 dB vice 1.69 dB. When DSS-66 reset the command mod index, it became 19.7 dB. DR N103709. IMPACT: All commands made it to the spacecraft. DOY 156 (06/05/06) G06-0061 FTP Connection to ACE DDS Timed Out The ftp connection to the ACE DDS failed around the beginning of the pass. The connection was re-established a short time later. IMPACT: One automation notification was sent out through the back up XTEDDS. DOY 158 (06/07/06) S06-0009 Sun Constraint Violation The Sun Angle violated the 4 degree constraint after the attitude maneuver. According to the post-maneuver attitude, the sun angle was 3.9 degrees around 15:55. The Sun Angle fluctuated in and out of the yellow low limit throughout the rest of the pass because the spacecraft nutation was around 0.35 degrees. By the end of the pass at 17:45 the sun angle had increased to 4.1 degrees. IMPACT: None. Spin Rate within constraints. The small sun angle did not impact the generation of the sun pulse. The ACE Science Center was notified of violation. DOY 159 (06/08/06) G06-0062 ROBOTT - C&C Color Allocation TAPS displays were remotely brought up on AC1WS3 and not closed before the next pass. These displays take up color and do not leave enough colors to be allocated to C&C. The problem was noticed by the FOT as C&C was being initialized and the necessary windows on WS3 were killed. IMPACT: None. If the problem had not been caught, the RTMON would have eventually failed over the operations to the backup string. DOY 159 (06/08/06) G06-0063 CNE N/W Connectivity Unavailable The FOT is unable to ftp to and from the ACEDDS. There is a new firewall on the open IONET and the sys admins have submitted a gateway request for this. IMPACT: Cannot ftp products to and from the ACEDDS until the gateway request is implemented.
