ACE Weekly 04/21/2010 - 04/27/2010 All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally. ======================================================================== Orbit/Attitude: No maneuvers were completed this week. The next attitude maneuver is scheduled for Friday 04/30/2010. ======================================================================= OCRs: ULEIS-074 Exercise ULEIS Shutter The ULEIS instrument has a shutter that autonomously closes during elevated solar activity (enabled in September 2001). The shutter had not moved since DOY 349 2006 due to a quiet sun. OCR ULEIS-074 was to manually close (25%) and reopen the shutter (100%) to confirm that the shutter is still operating properly. However, on DOY 095 (4/1/2010 05:15:36-12:20:28), the ULEIS shutter successfully closed (25%) and reopened (100%) due to the solar activity. The OCR is on file for future execution if needed. ULEIS shutter movement since 02/01/2002 Year # of shutter movements 2002 44 2003 38 2004 34 2005 36 with 1 error on 09/13/05 10:16:02z 2006 12 2007 0 2008 0 2009 0 2010 2 Note, ULEIS will flag an error if the shutter does not open or close properly. This flag is checked during each pass. If the flag is set, the shutter is opened to 100% to return it to a specific position and the flag is cleared. ======================================================================== Activities: Data Capture: 100% DOY 108-115 2010 ======================================================================== Anomalies: DOY 114 04/24/2010 S-ACE-0499 G10-0022 DSS-65 Unable To Move Antenna DSS-65 couldn't release the antenna brakes. This had started during the previous pass with SOHO (0747z). ACE Beginning Of Track was at 1255z. The antenna was fixed at 1445z. The pass was completed with the 90 minutes remaining (1455-1625z). IMPACT: The FOT went to the MMOC to ensure that the MMOC software would function properly. Since there was some time available in the pass, the procedures completed successfully without manual intervention. The SSR playback was caught up over the next 2 passes.
