ACE Weekly 07/28/2010 - 08/03/2010 All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally. ======================================================================== Orbit/Attitude: Type Attitude Date 07/30/2010 DOY 211 2010 Thrusters 2R 4R+ 4R- Duration 12:35 min Start 19:54:01z Stop 20:06:36z HGAStart -5.77deg HGAStop +7.85deg SunStart 6.86deg SunStop 16.82deg SpinStart 5.0644rpm SpinStop 5.0678rpm Nutation 0.07deg Firing 64 pulses FuelUsed 0.2039lbs FuelRemain 134.7828lbs FinalSCMass 1369.043lbs The next attitude maneuver and station-keeping maneuver #55 are scheduled for Tuesday 08/17/2010. ======================================================================= OCRs: None ======================================================================== Activities: Data Capture: 100% DOY 206-213 2010 The longest streak of complete playback data capture for the ACE Mission was broken on Monday August 2 (DOY 214 2010). Previous streak DOY 273 2008 -> DOY 148 2009 (242 days) Current streak DOY 337 2009 -> DOY 214 2010 (243 days & counting) The perfect data capture reflects the fact that no passes were completely lost due to problems with either DSN or the MMOC. The procedures for automated SSR redumps had been implemented in 2003. The ULEIS shutter closed to 25% Tuesday 08/03/2010 (DOY 215) at around 15:00z due to recent solar activity. This is expected behavior. No other automatic reconfigurations have yet occurred due to the solar activity (e.g. CRIS Image Intensifier powered off). Further information and exact times will be available after Wednesday's SSR playback has been completed. ======================================================================== Anomalies: DOY 212 07/31/2010 S-ACE-0519 G10-0037 JPL SLE TLM Provider JPL's SLE Telemetry Provider had a communication error when the MMOC MUS/SLE software tried to connect at BOT-20 minutes. The MMOC MUS/SLE software attempted to reconnect every 60 seconds. At BOT+24 minutes, the JPL Data Control Manager restarted the ACE SLE process on the SLE Provider. The MMOC MUS/SLE software was then able to successfully bind and the MMOC started receiving telemetry. The pass activities were started without further problems. DR#N106466 IMPACT: Activities delayed 25 minutes. DOY 214 08/02/2010 S-ACE-0520 G10-0038 ITOS tm_controller ITOS was unable to process telemetry due to a "timeout reading from tm_controller". ITOS was restarted before beginning of track. This problem occurs approximately once every 2 weeks. DR CDSID#00027515 has been submitted and the ITOS developers expect this to be fixed in the next release of ITOS. IMPACT: Manual intervention required. No delay in activities.
