ACE Weekly 02/15/2011 - 02/21/2011 All ACE spacecraft subsystems are performing nominally. ======================================================================== Orbit/Attitude: No maneuvers were performed this week. The next attitude maneuver and station keeping #57 are scheduled for Friday 02/25/2011. ======================================================================= OCRs: None ======================================================================== Activities: Data Capture: 100% DOY 044-051 2011 February 23 (DOY 054) marks the 1-year anniversary of ACE operations in the Multi-Mission Operations Center (MMOC). NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) does not have a backup antenna. NOAA SWPC currently has antenna time with NICT (Japan), DLR (Germany), and Wallops (Virginia). NICT's antenna will be down on 2/20, 2/23, 2/24, 2/25 and 3/6 for maintenance. The network connection to the Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) was lost on September 1, 2010 with the closing of the Onizuka Air Force Base. There are plans to add a network through Vandenberg Air Force Base, but that has not yet been implemented. Note, the NOAA SWPC operations are separate from the Goddard flight operations, but this information is worth noting and therefore included in this weekly report. The gaps in NOAA/ACE space weather data can be seen at http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/ace/MAG_SWEPAM_7d.html http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/ace/EPAM_7d.html http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/ace/SIS_7d.html ======================================================================== Anomalies: WIND anomalies reported when they would affect ACE. DOY 047 02/16/2011 S-WIND-0413 ITOS tm_controller Before Beginning Of Track, ITOS had problems connecting telemetry, "timeout reading from tm_controller". ITOS was stopped and restarted and the WIND pass was taken successfully. CDSID#00027515 Having ITOS continually "acquired" on a telemetry source has not been prevented the tm_controller problem. IMPACT: Manual intervention required. DOY 048 02/17/2011 S-ACE-0585 G11-0013 DSS-65 Unable to Move The ground antenna was unable to move to position at Beginning Of Track (BOT). The pointing predicts file was empty and the Antenna Control Assembly (ACA) was frozen. The ACA was rebooted and the pointing predicts were properly distributed. DR#M106162 IMPACT: Activities delayed 30 minutes. No impact to NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). The spacecraft was in RTSW format during this time.
