SIS geometry factors

[SIS O geometry factors]
Oxygen geometry factor for individual detectors (range 0-8). "Range 0" particles stop in matrix detector 2 (M2).

Calibration Data and Thickness Maps (sample)

The final response of each telescope was tested at the GSI accelerator facility in Darmstadt, Germany. The figure below illustrates data from one particular beam run. Isotopes can be seen as peaks within each charge group.

Each detector was also mapped for thickness variations using both a custom- designed interferometer system and energy deposition measurements taken at the NSCL accelerator facility at Michigan State University. The figure below shows examples of such maps; the contours are 1 µm each.
