Guest Observer Program
Program Overview
GALEX will have an Guest Observer Program as part of its baseline mission. Guest Observers may propose to analyze archival data and/or perform dedicated observations with the GALEX satellite. A period of 12 months has been set aside in the nominal 28 month mission for GO observations. NASA has earmaked funding for 2004 and 2005 to support GO's. GO's will be expected to work closely with the GALEX GO Support Office at Goddard Space Flight Center. Data products provided to GO's will be standard pipeline products.
We are currently in the process of defining the GALEX GO Program. The Announcement of Opportunity is expected to be released in the late Summer or early Fall of 2003.
