The payload has two key functions

reduce disturbances on proof masses in the MBW to < 3e-15 m/s^2/sqrt(Hz)

Measure changes in distance between proof masses

and two main payload subsytems

DRS contains sensor, control laws and micro Newton thrusters

Interferometery measurement subsystem consists of telescope, optics, laser, phase meter, phase noise correction and supporting structure
