Telecon 26 June 2003 Attended by Brad Cenko, Hal Petrie, Marco Bonati, Danny Shri Kulkarni Derek Fox Bob Thicksten, John Henning and Mike Doyle ------------------------------------------------------------------------ XTCS+VMS (Henning): Henning has a simple command file interpreter for the program "op". Wiring (Thicksten & Henning) : The wiring for Focus Motors, Dome shutters, Dome Reset, Flat field Lamps. Temperature sensors not installed (at various points on the telescope). (need to discuss placements of six sensors) Engineering time for aluminzing (Thicksten): can start as early as 15th July and end 28th July can start as late as 26th July and end 7th August We decided starting Friday July 25th that the telescope will not be availble until 7th August. Suspicion that changes in pointing at the 15-arcsecond level are due to relative movement of either secondary or primary. Sensors for the secondary and primary (to be installed and tested for possible motion of secondary and primary). It is a daytime activity. Dewar (Petrie): IR Labs dewar is expected to hold for 17-19 hours. So dewar lifetime should not be an operational headache. Hal expect to send plans to shop next week (dewar base, saddle bag attachments). Under normal conditions we expect the parts to come back in 3-5 weeks. CCD Electronics (Danny): Wiring to be done by next Thursday (with Ernest). CCD PC board will come in next week. Waveform generation. Arcview (Marco & Roger): CAMERA CONSOLE WINDOW: Imaging software is done. XTCS WINDOW: TBD Revisit this issue two weeks from now. FILTER WHEEL WINDOW: Decision is needed on whether we should keep old system or buy new motors --> Revisit this issue next week. Webcams: --> Revisit next week this issue with feedback from Dan & Minerva Ideally we would like a OS independent Webcam so that we could view the dome and control room using either windows, Linux or Mac. SRK has bought a simple windows only Webcam and will experiment bandwidth shortly (Saturday or Monday).
