If you're looking at this site, then you probably know who I am and are bored out of your mind. In case you don't know me, I am a now a FORMER graduate student (see below) at Caltech studying space physics. This page is mostly a place for me to organize interesting web pages I like to visit. The background you are looking at is a real time image of the Sun taken by the Extreme ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (EIT) aboard the SOHO spacecraft. This is not a visible light picture -- rather, it is in the extreme ultraviolet, 171 Angstroms to be exact. It is current, and updates pretty often (thanks, EIT folks!). Check out the EIT web page here.

Update on studies: I defended on September 2, 2003. The final version of the thesis, titled "Ionic Charge States of Solar Energetic Particles", was turned in on September 10. I am now finished, though I still intend to write a paper based on the thesis research this Fall. I will also be starting a job this Fall at Northrop Grumman Space Technology.
